The rules of the board, in plain English.

YappyHour is a live board of happy-hour deals: which bars and restaurants are pouring right now, what it costs, and how long until last call. It’s an iOS app and a website, operated by Runtime LLC. These terms are a contract between you and Runtime LLC.

The service is free. There are no paid features today. We may introduce some later; if we do, we’ll say so clearly, and we won’t quietly move something you already have behind a paywall.

If you don’t agree with these terms, don’t use YappyHour. Using it means you accept them.

YappyHour is about alcohol deals, so it’s intended for people of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction — 21 or older in the United States. If you’re not, this service isn’t for you.

Nothing on YappyHour is an invitation to drink to excess, and nothing here should ever put you behind the wheel after drinking. Know your limits. Get a ride.

You can browse without an account. If you create one — with Apple, Google, or an emailed magic link — you’re responsible for what happens under it. Keep your sign-in method secure and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, submit false information, or abuse the service.

Deal data comes from venue menus, public sources, and user submissions. We work to keep it current, but we can’t verify every price at every bar every day, and we don’t promise to. Countdowns and “live now” status are our best read of the venue’s stated hours, not a real-time feed from the venue.

Spot something stale or wrong? Report it in the app or email paul@madebyruntime.com. That’s how the board stays good.

You can submit content to YappyHour: new venue suggestions, photos of venues and menus, ratings, and issue reports. You own what you submit. We don’t.

But for the board to work, you grant Runtime LLC a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, and display your submitted content on the board and in the app, and to derive deal data from it — for example, reading a menu photo you upload to extract happy-hour prices. Approved deals appear on the public board.

By submitting, you represent that you have the right to submit it: the photo is yours to share, the report is honest, the rating is your own. Don’t upload someone else’s photos or invent deals.

We can remove any submitted content at any time, for any reason — usually because it’s wrong, stale, or doesn’t belong on the board. We don’t owe an explanation, though we’ll usually give one if you ask.

Use YappyHour like a person looking for a drink, not like a bot looking for a dataset. Specifically:

No scraping or bulk extraction

The board is for finding your next happy hour, not for harvesting. Don’t copy the dataset.

No automated access

No bots, crawlers, or scripts outside a documented API. We don’t publish one today.

No reverse engineering

Don’t decompile the app or probe the service to extract its data or its workings.

No false submissions

No fake deals, no fabricated venues, no photos that aren’t yours to submit.

No interference

Don’t overload, disrupt, or try to break the service for other people.

Break these and we can limit, suspend, or terminate your access without notice.

If you own or manage a venue listed on YappyHour and something is wrong — hours, prices, the listing itself — email paul@madebyruntime.com. We’ll correct it quickly, and there’s never a fee to fix your own listing.

If you’d rather not be on the board at all, tell us and we’ll honor the removal request. We list venues because we think the board helps them, not to hold their information hostage.

The YappyHour name, logo, app, site design, and the board’s compiled deal data belong to Runtime LLC. Individual facts about a venue aren’t ours — a bar’s happy hour is the bar’s — but the compilation, curation, and presentation of the board are, and these terms don’t give you any license to them beyond personal use of the service.

The venues on the board are independent businesses. We don’t control them, we’re not their agent, and listing a venue isn’t an endorsement of it. Your visit, your tab, and your experience there are between you and the venue.

The service also includes maps, links, and data from third parties. Those come with their own terms, and we’re not responsible for their content or accuracy.

We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of YappyHour at any time — features, cities, the whole service. We may also introduce paid features in the future. Because the service is free today, we don’t owe compensation if something changes or goes away, though we’ll try to give notice for anything significant.

This is the all-caps part. It says in legal terms what the deal-information section already said in plain ones: we provide the service as-is, and we don’t guarantee the data.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DEAL INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you. Where the law sets a floor, the floor applies.

If someone brings a claim against Runtime LLC because of content you submitted — a photo that wasn’t yours, a deal you invented — or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result. Submit honestly and this section never touches you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that ends up in court belongs in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction.

Before it gets there: email paul@madebyruntime.com first. Most problems with a happy-hour app can be solved by two people talking, and we commit to trying in good faith for 30 days before either side escalates.

If you got YappyHour from Apple’s App Store: these terms are between you and Runtime LLC, not Apple. Apple is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

If you got YappyHour from Google Play: these terms are between you and Runtime LLC, not Google. Your use of the app is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, and Google is not responsible for the app or its content.

We’ll update these terms when the service changes in a way that matters. The date at the top always reflects the current version. For significant changes we’ll give notice in the app or by email; continuing to use YappyHour after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t, stop using the service and, if you have an account, delete it.
