Something off on the board? Tell us and we’ll fix it.
A wrong price is worse than no price. Report it, ask a question, or get your bar on the board. One person reads every email, and it’s the same person who writes the code.
How live is the board, really?
The board is computed live from each venue’s published happy-hour windows and the current clock. Spots pouring right now sort to the top by who is closest to last call, and the countdowns tick in real time. What can lag is the underlying data itself, and when a venue changes their hours we depend on reports to catch it.
What do “later tonight” and “not on tonight” mean?
“Later tonight” means the spot has a happy hour that has not started yet today, so you can plan ahead. “Not on tonight” means the venue is on the board but has no window running today. Neither means closed, it just means no deal right now.
Why does a deal show a countdown?
The countdown is time left until that venue’s last call, when the happy-hour window ends. It is the whole point of the app: the board sorts by it so you can see what you are about to miss. When it hits zero, the spot drops out of the live lane.
Are the prices real?
Yes, they come straight off the venue’s happy-hour menu, which is why you see $5 wells instead of vague drink specials. Some deals also carry a tag, like MOST ORDERED on a venue’s top deal. If a price is wrong, tell us and we will fix it fast.
Is YappyHour free?
Yes. No subscription, no paywall, no locked features. You do not even need an account to browse the whole board.
Is there an Android app?
Not yet. YappyHour is iOS only today, though the codebase targets Android and a release is on the roadmap. In the meantime the website works on any phone, with live city boards and venue pages.
My city isn’t listed. When are you coming?
Coverage is limited and growing, and we go where the demand is. Open your city in the app and tap the notify-me button on the empty board, that is literally the signal we use to pick the next city. We will let you know when your city lights up.
My favorite bar isn’t on here.
Add it. There is an add-a-spot flow in the app: submit the venue with a photo, and if you have a shot of their happy-hour menu, upload that too and we will pull the deals from it. A human reviews every submission before it appears on the board.
This deal is wrong, or the bar changed their hours.
Email us the venue name and what is off, there is a report channel at the top of this page with the subject line prefilled. Wrong deals get fixed fast because they are the worst kind of bug we can have. You are not bothering us, you are doing the board a favor.
Where do the deals come from?
Three places: the venues’ own happy-hour menus, public sources, and submissions from people who go there. Everything user-submitted passes a human review before it publishes. We do not invent prices, if a deal shows $6 margaritas, a menu said so.
I showed up and the venue said the deal ended.
That happens, and we hate it as much as you do. Venues change happy hour without telling anyone, so a deal can go stale between our updates. Email us the venue and we will correct or pull it, usually the same day we hear about it.
Do I need an account?
No. The whole board, search, the map, and directions work signed out. An account only becomes necessary when you want to save favorite spots or get notifications about them.
How do I sign in? I didn’t get my magic link.
You can use Sign in with Apple or an emailed magic link, no passwords either way. If the link does not arrive within a minute or two, check spam and confirm you typed the address right, then request a fresh one, since the newest link is the one that works. Still stuck? Email us and we will sort it out.
How do notifications work, and what will you send me?
Allow notifications when the app asks, and we will ping you for things you have shown you care about, like a deal at a spot you saved starting soon, or your city going live. Everything also lands in the in-app inbox, so you miss nothing if pushes are off. There are quiet-hours settings so we never buzz you at 3 a.m., and we do not send marketing blasts.
How do I delete my account, and what happens to my data?
Delete it right from the app, in your account settings, no email required and no exit interview. Your account and your profile go with it. Anything you put on the public board, like a menu photo and the deals we read from it, stays, because that is information about the venue rather than about you. If the delete does not go through, email us and we will finish it by hand. The details are in our privacy policy.
I own this bar and the info is wrong.
Email us from the report channel above with your venue name and the correction. Owner reports go to the front of the line, you know your happy hour better than anyone. A photo of your current menu is the fastest way to get everything right at once.
How do I get my deals listed?
Submit your venue from the app, or just email us a photo of your happy-hour menu and we will do the typing. We extract the deals, a human reviews them, and they go live with real prices. That is it, there is no onboarding call.
Does it cost anything to be on YappyHour?
No. Listings are free, there is no paid placement, and no one can buy their way to the top of the board. Sorting is purely about who is pouring and how close last call is.
I want my venue taken down.
Email us and we will remove it. We would rather know why, in case something on our end was wrong, but we do not require a reason. Takedown requests go to the same human inbox as everything else.
Why does the app want my location?
Only to sort the board by what is closest to you, and it is entirely optional, the app works fine without it. We use it in the foreground while you are looking at the app, we do not track you in the background. Say no and you just pick your city manually.
Do you track me?
We collect basic usage analytics to see which features get used, and that is it. We do not sell your data and we do not build advertising profiles, there are no ads to feed. The full rundown of what we collect and why is in our privacy policy.
