Delete your account, with or without the app.

If you have the YappyHour app installed and are signed in, this is the fastest path and it takes effect immediately.

• Open the YappyHour app and go to the Profile tab.
• Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
• Confirm when prompted. Your account and profile are deleted and you are signed out.

That is it — there is nothing else to do and no waiting period. If the delete ever fails, the app shows you an error rather than pretending it worked; use the email path below and we will finish it by hand.

You do not need the app, or even a working sign-in, to have your account and data deleted. This is the route to use if you have already uninstalled YappyHour, lost access to the account, or simply prefer to ask a person.

We will not ask you to reinstall the app, create anything, or pay to have your data deleted. If anything about a request is unclear on our end, we reply and ask rather than guessing.

Deleting your account removes the personal data tied to it. A small amount of content you contributed to the public board is kept, because it describes venues rather than you — this is called out plainly below.

Deleted — your account

Your sign-in identity and the email address behind it are permanently removed. You can no longer sign in, and the deletion is not reversible.

Deleted — your profile

Your user record — username, base city, and account status fields — is deleted along with the account.

Deleted — your activity

Saved favorites, venue ratings, menu-photo likes, venue issue reports, any spot or city you submitted that is still pending review (its photo included), and every push-notification token registered to your devices are all removed — so notifications stop and your saved list is gone.

Kept — submitted board content

Menu photos you uploaded, and the happy-hour deals we read from them, stay on the public board. They are venue data, not data about you, and they are un-linked from your account when it is deleted — nothing on the board points back to you anymore.

Kept — anonymous analytics

Usage analytics were never tied to your account in the first place — they are keyed to a random per-device id — so there is nothing account-specific to delete. See the privacy policy for how those are handled.

In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are completed within 30 days at the outside, and in practice almost always the same day. We will reply to confirm once your account is gone.
